Espe cially when you have worked in the recreation activities for sev eral years and the kids all know you by your first name. Bimmy Parker, who is teach ing in Cooleemee this year, has encountered some of the prob w lems of being known too well. At the beginning of school this year one of the little boys in his 1 class known as Tubby Hellard called him "Bimmy" during class. He felt this should be cor rected and said, "Tubby during class, please call me Mr. Park er." Without hesitation, Tubby re plies, "O.K. Mr. Parker, but during class would you please call me David." Women Plan Bake Sale • The Episcopal Church women will hold a bake sale on Friday September 26, at the Cooleemee Super Market. The sale will begin at 12 noon. Anyone wishing to place a special order may call any member of the Church of The Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. This will be a • first" in the history of the shopping C enter and all the merchants will have a good selection of merchandise drastically reduced for this sale. Due to the narrow walkways, the P&N Department Store and Cooleemee Drug will have tables set up just inside the store to display their sale merchandise. Wagner's Jewelry will also be compelled to set up his sale display inside but says it will be in the front of the store and can easily be seen from the window. Boy Stoats Hunting Leaders I Boy Scout Troop 500 in Cool eemee desperately needs inter ested adults to plan programs, help conduct weekly meetings, and assist in various scouting activities. Anyone having a little spare time and an interest in the development of the youth of this area, please contact scoutmas ter, Aubrey Wensil; chairman, Tom Smith, or representative, Jerry Cope. Boys ages 11-16 in this area, who are interested in becoming boy scouts may also contact any Library Hours Change Oct 1 The library hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. onTuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fri day, beginning on October 1. The remaining merchants, The Ellis Shop. Western Auto, Super Market, Ridenhour's Florist and the Hard ware and Sporting Goods Store will have displays set up on the sidewalk in front of their respective businesses The merchants have been busy during the past several days searching their shelves, racks and showcases for a good selection of items that will be priced below cost.
